Afbrydelser

Afbrydelser

Afbrydelser (Interruptions) is an essay anthology consisting of fifteen new texts by Danish women writers about the concept of interruptions.

I conceptualized and edited the anthology in 2023, initiating my research and work on the interrupted working conditions of women artists which I have since continued in the essay booklet Børneårene (The Childrearing Years, 2024) and in the projects Postcards to a Friend and Assombramento. I’m interested in how interruptions shape the artistic work being made, and how the interrupted working conditions of (women) artists with children specifically create a sort of “poetics of interruptions”; a specific way of working with the artistic material.

The essays in Afbrydelser (Interruptions) are written by Caroline Albertine Minor, Cecilie Lind, Ditte Holm Bro, Joan Rang Christensen, Johanne Bille, Julie Sten-Knudsen, Kirstine Reffstrup, Kristina Stoltz, Louise Juhl Dalsgaard, Maja Lucas, Puk Qvortrup, Sabitha Söderholm, Sine Bang Nielsen, Tina Frank and Ursula Scavenius.
