Postcards to a friend is a duo exhibition by Sine Bang Nielsen and Mia Degner.
Our postcards to one another emerge from our shared experience of being relatively tied to home, children, and care work. From here, we explore who has access to which communities, what kinds of communities can be created from an otherwise excluded position, and what kinds of art can be made in between children’s hospital appointments, sick days, and domestic labour.
Through this project, we seek to hack the system and create an alternative artistic community – one that enables participation even for artists who do not always meet conventional expectations of productivity and performance.
